A Lost Sheep: Donnie Sumner Testimony

“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?  And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance” ~ Luke 15: 4-7

“Ordinary folk”

Hello all, this is the worm back from a couple of weeks of driving around these great states of ours, (some pictures to soon follow). Something on my mind i felt like commenting on. A question of sorts; if christ was walking among us tomorrow, would u recognize him for who he really is? yes, it may sound a little corny, but ive got a hunch that some of us wouldnt. Think about it; he walks into the local bar and witnesses to a bartender, (or barfly; i used to be one). Or u see him conversing with a well known crossdressing prostitute, explaining to him,(or her) about how he died on the cross for our sins. Or he walks into the auditorium where u have the so called anointed using that old phrase “u aint hearin’ me”, would u feel comfortable having him sit next to you? Its just a thought.

Ive had some christian acquaintances in the past who were on the prosperity kick and who felt that every blessing that they were to give and receive was that of monetary or material wealth. Unfortunately i dont believe christ would be as “chummy” as they would like to believe. I spoke openly this very thought over breakfast one morning with some of these guys, they pretended like they didnt hear it, but i know they did. Oh yeah, i did say “former acquaintances” didnt i? anyway, im not saying that i would recognize him right off the bat either, my point is, these “ordinary folk” are precisely the ones he came for, the ones that really need him, not the ones that think they’ve got it all figured out from a two day seminar or”conference of power”. I just pray that i and all my “peeps”(this means u) would have not only the ear to hear but also the eyes to see christ for who he really was, is, and is to come.

Are you a Christian struggling with addiction?

“Honest prayer unmasks your real need and puts you in the presence of a rich Christ who wants to meet you as you really are — ‘wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked’ (Rev. 3:17).”
